Lunar Eclipse 2010
Last nights eclipse was the first total lunar eclipse to occur on day of the Northern Winter Solstice (Southern Summer Solstice) since 1638, and only the second in the common era. (Thanks Wikipedia)
I set up my tripod, camera, and beer at around 11pm, hoping to capture it.
When I walked outside, it was clearer than I had seen it in weeks...and very cold. The shadow of the earth was about half way across the moon, it resembled a cresent moon. Unfortunatly I don't have state-of-the-art lunar eclipse catching equipment, but the images I did get I hope shall be sufficient for you fun lovin blog readers. In about 15-20 minutes, the shadow moved and completly covered the moon, and the lunar eclipse, a bright orange color, made the inner nerd in me giggle. It was extremly clear and very beautiful. The air was crisp, my fingers were ice, as I kept changing the settings on my camera, hoping I would stumble on the "eclipse" feature...

~~My first look, half way to the eclipse~~
~~Even though using a tripod, the San Andreas fault is working against me~~
~~You cannot tell, but trust me, only a sliver of the moon is left, the rays are amazing~~

Saved by the light.
My great friend, and amazing artist, Scott Jacobs has a great story. I wish he could tell it, but this is MY blog...so I am going to do it...I'll try to be as accurate as possible ;)
The other day, Scottie was painting his latest work of art "That's a bad chic" in his new apartment. His easel was set up in the center of his poorly lit room, underneath the ceiling light....until it suddenly burnt out on him. He then readjusted his workspace, pulling his easel two feet back, to be closer to his dresser light.
The next night, while painting in his new spot, he heard a weird noise, and something wizzed by him.
Two gun shots.
One came through the kitchen window, through the wall to his room, and embedded itself in the back wall. The trajectory path of the bullet? Right where his easel stood not one night before.
Thank god he is alright, and that he was indeed, in his words, "Saved by the light".
I was lucky enough to pretend I was CSI (of course after the cops did their own work) and photograph the details.

Imagine
I took this picture last week, and I cannot think of a more appropriate day to post it. It's exactly what I want to convey. :))
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Christmas spirit
Not to anyone's surprise, but I am turning into my grandma more and more everyday. I have all the classic symptoms...filling up my walls and empty spaces with framed pictures and art, baking cookies, dressing up my daughter like a birthday cake, and yes, putting up Christmas trees all over the house. I LOVE Christmas!!! I have had five trees for a few years now, and I am going to do my best to keep it this way, for a few years more at least...before I add anymore!! I think this year I shall share all of them with you, throughout the month...because it's a very trendy thing to do, and I know how much different my Christmas trees must look compared to yours. :P

Starting the holiday season right!
What better way to begin your holiday festivities, than inviting a new baby to your world. This little man came just in time to get some Thanksgiving turkey....and to hopefully not get on Santa's "Naughty List".
Precious little guy :)
